Drakes party compound, the Yolo Estate, sells for $12 million Los Angeles Times

The house is also surrounded by animal statues that include a 60-foot crocodile next to a mechanical bull. The master bedroom is connected to a spa and marble soaking tubs, amounting to 2,000 square feet. If that’s not enough space, you could also purchase the two neighboring properties.

I don’t think it’s necessarily a precursor for things to come that aren’t already happening, but AI in hip-hop is too new (and the lines are still too muddy) for it to be used in this way without taking a minute to think of potentially nasty applications in the future. Yes, J. Cole loses points for apologizing for his diss at Kendrick Lamar and taking “7 Minute Drill” off of streaming. But even though Cole’s heart was never in the fight in the first place, his response to Kendrick’s “Like That” verse still out-paces some of the AI raps and self-indulging remixes that have followed it. The bars themselves are mild, and Cole says that he was “hesitant” to diss Kendrick on the track because he still “loves [his] brother.” It’s clear that he acted out of character by dropping “7 Minute Drill,” and while it’s not terrible, its lack of conviction is evident. He transforms the original Metro-produced beat by adding a choir of Inter Milan hooligans, in the same way that he did on his No. 1 song “Carnival,” which makes it feel like it could have soundtracked a blockbuster movie trailer. But sadly, it’s less like Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight and more like Marvel’s Ant-Man 3.

After AI Tupac and AI Snoop finish their verses, Drake comes in and lays an impressive verse himself, calling Dot a coward for not dropping yet. And he does it all over a beat that sounds like it could be found by searching “West Coast type beat” on YouTube (likely by design). According to DJ Akademiks, Drake allegedly wrote both of the verses for AI Tupac and AI Snoop Dogg, which would make sense given their sarcastic nature (and how similar their cadences are to his). There have already been half a dozen diss songs in the rap war between Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and more. During the song, Drake prominently uses vocals modulated through the use of artificial intelligence (AI) software to emulate the voices of legendary West Coast rappers Tupac Shakur and Snoop Dogg.

Genius is the world’s biggest collection of song lyrics and musical knowledge

While people questioned the authenticity of the romance, one thing is for certain and that’s the rapper’s love of the film, directed by Sean Baker. Several years back, he was rumored to be on a date with a woman by the name of Bria Vinaite. In fact, the rapper and the actress were dining at the restaurant Sotto Sotto after the debut screening of what one website called a “highly-acclaimed movie” by the name of ‘The Florida Project’ at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Drake’s six university residence halls each have their own traditions and personality. They all offer nicely furnished rooms, air conditioning, wireless internet, common areas, and kitchens. Never in the history of celebrity has anyone’s love life been so uninteresting. For all intents and purposes we are going to end this epic petty battle right now and say that, yes,  he is considered a rapper.

Make no mistake, Kendrick Lamar will respond to Drake—it’s just a matter of when. Nas waited three months after Jay-Z dropped “Takeover” in Sept. 2001 before he released “Ether” in December of that year. “Taylor Made Freestyle” is no “Back to Back,” but Drake has made it clear that he desperately wants Kendrick to respond to his jabs and keep the rap war going. He isn’t ducking any smoke from the rest of his opposition, either, so it sounds like the ball is in everyone else’s court now. Drake goes on to say that “Push Ups” only took him “an hour or two” to make and hints that his next diss track will “bring out the coward” in Kendrick.

See Drake’s $75 Million Los Angeles Mansion

Kendrick rang the bell for the whole battle with his appearance on “Like That” and there still hasn’t been a moment that’s topped it (yet). With one explosive verse that shook up the entire rap landscape, Kendrick finally put an end to all of the pump-faking he and Drake had been engaging in since he last pushed the red button on “Control” a decade ago. What’s most impressive about “Like That,” though, beyond its sheer impact, is how effective Kendrick is in so few bars.

Drake is such an indomitable force in rap that it takes a whole army of foes to join forces and make a coordinated effort just to attack him, and even then, he still finds a way to fire back against them all. Things are heating up between Drake and Rick Ross, as the two rappers continue to send direct shots at each other on social media. The back-and-forth was initiated by the latter’s April 15 “Champagne Moments” diss track, where Ross alleged the Canadian icon got a nose job and a BBL, called him a “white boy,” and more.

For the last decade, he’s been compiling a compound in Hidden Hills, a gated city in the San Fernando Valley where celebrities flock for privacy. He also owns a 50,000-square-foot showplace in his hometown of Toronto. For the last year, Drake has been scouring the Southern California real estate market for a new home, and it appears he has found one.

From what we understand there’s been a lot of debate on this ex-Degrassi star’s street cred —  and with origins from a show like Degrassi and a nationality that is Canadian, it’s not too hard to understand why (haha we kid — Canadians are awesome). Measuring 18,000 sq ft, the home has seven bedrooms and 14 baths; a great room dressed in marble with views of the ocean; an atrium that opens from the roof to the lower floor; a chef’s kitchen with clean, minimalist lines; and a butler’s pantry. And its most pleasing attribute is the architectural design, which incorporates elements of nature and includes a meticulously designed courtyard with a 20-foot cascading water wall situated behind a 150-year-old Mediterranean olive tree shipped from Italy, according to the listing. In 2014, he revealed to Rolling Stone that he came across the property after searching for the world’s craziest residential pools. He bought the property for $7.7 million, which was a steal as the previous owner Larry Pollack had initially put it in the market for $27 million.

He wastes no time to refute the Big 3 label, shit on Drake’s affinity for Michael Jackson with a clever bar about Prince, and make it clear that he wants all the smoke. Metro Boomin finding a way to say “fuck you” to Drake through the club-friendly production also helps make the case for “Like That,” a song that’s been sitting at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for three weeks. Drake has long been praised for his ability to diss rivals on hit songs that they have to hear in the club, so you know he’s seething now that someone did it to him. Kendrick managed to trigger an entire rap war off his first hand, so there’s no telling what else has up his sleeve. Rick Ross gets points in this rap war just for pulling an extremely Rick Ross kind of a move and responding to Drake’s “Push Ups” within a few hours of the track “leaking” online. On “Champagne Moments,” Ross plays the ghost of Christmas past, present, and future by bringing up old rumors of ghostwriting, making the internet question whether or not Drake got a nose job, and everything in between.

The hip-hop star saved the best for last, as the residence known as the “Yolo Estate” is the most impressive of the three homes by far. He bought the Tudor-style house a decade ago for $7.7 million and transformed it into a full-fledged party compound complete with a mechanical bull, sand volleyball court and custom swimming pool with an 80-foot rock waterslide and secret grotto complete with TVs and a bar. Built over several years in the late 1990s, the nearly 25,000-square-foot mansion was first designed by KAA Design Group for Guess cofounder Armand Marciano, who opted for old world–esque, Mediterranean-themed interiors. English pop star Robbie Williams then bought the place in 2015 for $33 million, renovating it in a contemporary style. It’s unclear whether the Grammy Award–winning rapper made any changes to the property in the past year. If Drake gets his price, it’ll be Southern California’s most expensive home sale so far this year and a shot in the arm for L.A.’s lagging luxury real estate market, which has slowed significantly since Measure ULA went into effect in April, bringing a hefty transfer tax to L.A.

House of the Dragon TV Series 2022

dragon house

Hopefully, we will at least see the inevitable showdown between Daemon and (Mini-Me) Aemond, and if that plot point follows the Fire and Blood book, both men should be very afraid. House of the Dragon has spent more time politicking than dragon-riding in much of its first season. But by the final episode, the dragons — and their use in the coming Dance of the Dragons — take center stage. The daughter of Lord Corlys “the Sea Snake” Velaryon and Princess Rhaenys “the Queen Who Never Was” Targaryen — meaning she and her brother Laenor Velaryon are descended from two noble Valyrian Houses. Lord Corlys and Princess Rhaenys unsuccessfully tried to arrange a marriage between young Laena and King Viserys after his wife died in childbirth.

Author George R.R. Martin is also actively involved as an executive producer. Season 1 of the series received eight Emmy nominations from the Television Academy on Wednesday, including one for Outstanding Drama Series. We shall also meet an endless stream of new character including Alys Rivers (Gayle Rankin), a mysterious healer from Harrenhal, who plays a pivotal role in the book.

Episode 10: How ‘House of the Dragon’ fumbled its Season 1 finale to set up Season 2

In some cases these are dragons have never accepted riders, while others are dragons whose riders have died, but haven’t yet bonded with another rider. Meleys is known as the Red Queen thanks to her red scales and pink wing membrane. Meleys is now an old dragon, but in her younger days she was perhaps the swiftest and most nimble of all the Westerosi dragons. Jason is the Lord of Casterly Rock and appreciates the luxuries of his station.

The Times TV team will be with you — and 10 or so million of your closest friends — every step of the way with episode-by-episode recaps, explainers and deep dives into the world of Westeros, 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen. We’ll let you know which characters and houses to keep an eye on as the new prequel unfurls, analyze key scenes, offer context on a complicated fictional universe and speak to the talent behind the show about how it all came together. The only thing we can’t promise is that your favorites will make it to the end of the season. When you play the game of thrones, after all, you win or you die. And with the series already renewed for Season 2, no one is winning outright anytime soon.

Viserys later chooses to marry Alicent Hightower, with whom he has a son Aegon, creating a crisis of succession that sets off the first Targaryen civil war, known as the Dance of the Dragons. The first season received highly positive reviews, with praise towards its character development, visual effects, writing, score by Ramin Djawadi, and performances. However, the pacing, specifically of the time jumps, and the dark lighting of some scenes were criticized. The series premiere was watched by over 10 million viewers across the linear channels and HBO Max on the first day, the biggest in HBO's history. At the 80th Golden Globe Awards, House of the Dragon won Best Television Series – Drama and D'Arcy was nominated for Best Actress in a Television Series – Drama.

Following the immense success of season one, its successor is set to drop later this year, with the majority of the cast returning to occupy their roles. Before George R.R. Martin’s Westeros endured the Game of Thrones, Aegon the Conquerer set up his House of Targaryen to rule the Seven Kingdoms. Now, HBO is gearing up to show us the mayhem that happened when this house splintered into two sides that each claimed the Iron Throne.

Set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, this epic series tells the story of House Targaryen. While serving in the Kingsguard, Criston becomes very close with Rhaenyra, and the pair consummate their relationship prior to her engagement to Laenor. House Strong’s seat is Harrenhal, which hosted Jaehaerys I Targaryen’s assembly to choose an heir.

Cast and characters

The son of “the Sea Snake,” Lord Corlys Velaryon, and “the Queen Who Never Was,” Princess Rhaenys Targaryen — meaning he and his sister Laena Velaryon are very Valyrian. A dragon-rider who fought alongside Lord Corlys and Prince Daemon in the war for the Stepstones. Marries the Realm’s most eligible bachelorette — Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen — with an understanding that they are free to (secretly) indulge in their true interests outside of their vows. Ser Harrold Westerling is a long-standing member of the Kingsguard, having begun his service under Jaehaerys’ rule. In Game of Thrones, the only time House Westerling popped up was when they surrendered their seat to Robb Stark.

How the Cat King in ‘Dead Boy Detectives’ captures a familiar queer dynamic

However, in the Song of Ice and Fire books, this house played a much more prominent role, with Robb marrying Jeyne Westerling rather than Talisa Maegyr, as he did in the series. The opening chapter of the series successfully reimagined Westeros, as it would’ve existed under the Targaryens. Season two is set to build upon the narrative of its successor, which ended on a massive cliffhanger.

Otto also has a son, Ser Gwayne Hightower, who participated in the Heir’s Tournament in the series premiere. House Targaryen are pureblood Valyrians, and Viserys brokers a political alliance with one of the only other Valyrian houses, Velaryon, when he commands Rhaenrya to marry her second cousin Laenor Velaryon. Despite this — and the fact they’re related — Daemon still pursues a marriage with his niece Rhaenyra.

Whether you’re new to Westeros or making a long-awaited return, here’s everything you need know about the ‘Game of Thrones’ prequel, updated weekly. After Rhaenyra cuts short her tour of Westeros, Daemon introduces the princess to the Street of Silk after dark. Viserys hosts a tournament to celebrate the birth of his second child.

The Ultimate Guide to Standout Product Packaging Design 2024

product package design

Or maybe you want to add a grid of your top-selling products at the bottom of each product page. Our Standard turnaround for most custom packaging orders is around 10 business days and Rush turnaround is 7 business days. These turnarounds do not include transit time (1 - 7 business days depending on your location). Special custom or bulk orders may require a few extra days to get setup and produced. Please note that during extremely busy times of year some orders may take longer to complete. While delivery estimates cannot be guaranteed, all dates shown at checkout are the quickest estimate we offer.

Why Does Packaging Design Matter?

Be sure to forecast the impact packaging has on the flow of your supply chain. The age of your category will, in most cases, indicate the level of competition your brand faces. A brand may create a product in an existing category to increase brand identity or look to be the early adopter in a new emerging category. Test the functionality of the packaging design, including opening and closing mechanisms, ease of use, and structural integrity.

Functional Packaging

Less shelf space equates cheap and practical transportation, stacking, and storage. For us, it is their simplicity that enables easy transportation. The oblong and square shape of the plastic package is not able to deliver the message of ‘easy furniture’ as a wild stroke of luck.

What you need to do before starting your packaging design?

On average, a person will interact with your brand 5-7 times before they remember it, and probably many more times before they purchase it. Packaging design is an important way to engage with customers and make your brand more memorable. One study showed that bad brand aesthetics caused 52% of shoppers not to make a purchase from a company. At Deal Design, our goal is to help make sure you don’t fall into that 52%. High quality products deserve high quality packaging, and we’re here to untangle what that means for individual brands.

This was a packaging design proposal for Australian skincare company. The product is a luxurious mix of 8 premium oils aimed towards women who have an interest in certified organic beauty products. Abnem is a visionary brand that reimagines the way you enjoy your favorite beverages. The box is exquisitely crafted in a deep, lustrous black hue, symbolizing sophistication and timeless beauty. Its minimalist yet captivating design promises to catch the eye of customers seeking a modern and chic solution for their daily hydration needs.

If your customer service team keeps getting asked the same questions about a product, it might be a good idea to answer them right on the product page. Woof & Wiggle does a brilliant job highlighting real customer reviews with five-star icons and further validation from features in well-known media outlets. If you sell customized products or product kits that enable the buyer to assemble the parts they want, make this easier by using a product configurator on your product pages.

In an ever-evolving marketplace, staying updated on the latest packaging trends is essential to meet shifting consumer expectations. Once you’ve tracked down a potential printer, you should pay them a visit and take your mockup with you. It’s much easier to explain exactly how you would like your template to appear with a prop in hand, and your printer will appreciate the extra clarification too. All of these marks need to be visible and legible on the product, but they can be discreetly placed at small scale so as not to distract from the main design of the package. One of the biggest mistakes I see companies make with their packaging is that they try to cram every selling point, piece of information, design trend and buzzword onto their box.

This could be to better serve the customer or to target a specific audience, based on what you know about their needs. We take pride in delivering exceptional and innovative packaging solutions that not only meet, but exceed our customers' expectations. Trust us to create packaging that truly represents your brand and leaves a lasting impression on your customers. To resonate with a specific demographic, businesses must consider their preferences, needs, and values.

These are the pages that turn your shoppers from potential customers into actual paying customers. After checkout, our dedicated Prepress team will review your design for any technical concerns and send a 2D digital proof of your custom boxes to your email within 24 hours. If any changes need to be made, you can send a note directly to our Prepress team through the proof page and they'll be happy to help with finalizing your design for printing. Custom packaging and boxes can turn your brand into the total package with full customization, instant quoting, and fast turnarounds.

You may also want to consider including a QR code to direct your customers to more detailed online content. Primary packaging encapsulates the item directly and is the initial point of contact between the consumer and the product. This layer, be it a bottle, wrapper, or container, not only safeguards the product but also serves as a canvas for branding elements and essential information. You will also require vector files so that it is easier to resize. Adobe Illustrator (.ai) or Adobe Photoshop (.psd) files are generally print-ready files. The designer will also give you JPG and PNG type files which can open almost anywhere.

An eye-catching, unique look makes a great first impression and entices customers to try your product over others. You could have the coolest product packaging in the history of product packaging but if nobody has any idea what’s in the package, they’re probably not going to buy it. Aluminum and tin boxes often have a nostalgic quality and are used to package anything from mints and gum to cocoa powder and colored pencils. Wood boxes have a refined look and are used to package things like tea, watches, fine desserts, or novelty items. Deciding what sort of packaging a product comes in is the first step to designing the packaging itself. If a customer interacts with a well-packaged product, they’re bound to have a generally more positive outlook on the product itself, no matter the quality of the product itself.

They simplify the process considerably and do a lot of the heavy lifting to get your design just right. Perhaps most obvious is if any of your products can be sold in or with a tote bag. These typically have a very long life, and with your logo on the side, so will your brand. If you trade in health products or feature messaging that promotes a natural lifestyle, you should strongly consider environmentally friendly packaging. Understanding your product is less about how your packaging is designed and more about what type of packaging your product will require.

Easily share packaging design files with relevant stakeholders to collect their input and facilitate real-time communication. Additionally, you can incorporate feedback into the design and iterate right on the packaging as necessary. Evaluate the necessary graphic elements that need to be incorporated into the packaging design.

Official Statement on the Investigation of a Substance Found in the White House

white house cocaine

After that news broke, social media posts about the discovery rapidly spread, with various degrees of legitimacy. We found posts on Twitter, Reddit, TikTok, and Facebook making various claims about where the illicit substance was found and to whom it allegedly belonged. For instance, the below-displayed post claimed the cocaine was found in an area often occupied by U.S. President Joe Biden, while other posts asserted that the drug was left behind by his son, Hunter Biden. The U.S. Secret Service has stopped looking for the owner of a dime bag of cocaine left behind in the White House over the July 4th weekend, closing its investigation because of a lack of physical evidence. The Secret Service led the investigation into how the cocaine ended up at the White House and said as part of its review, it would look over surveillance footage and entrance logs to determine who had access to the area where it was found.

More from CBS News

Visitors, contractors, military personnel and staff members use the storage cubbies to drop off electronic devices and personal items not permitted in some areas of the West Wing. The vestibule is near the Situation Room, which is out of service for renovations; an alternative secure meeting room is being used for classified briefings during construction. WASHINGTON — The mystery of who brought cocaine into the White House remains unsolved. The Secret Service investigation has concluded with no usable forensic or video evidence identifying the person responsible, three Secret Service officials familiar with the investigation said.

Investigation

A 41-year-old man caught pouring cocaine down a toilet when gardaí raided his house has been jailed for three years at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. Officers found the cocaine during "routine patrols," a Secret Service official said. Asked about the incident Wednesday, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre emphasized that the investigation is under the Secret Service's purview and said she is "confident" they will get to the bottom of the situation. The news was first broken after several news organizations reportedly heard firefighters discussing the discovery on public radio channels. He, first lady Dr. Jill Biden and members of their family departed for Camp David on Friday. They returned to the White House on Tuesday for an event with the National Education Association and Fourth of July festivities.

Department of Homeland Security's National Biodefense Analysis and Countermeasures Center, which analyzed the item for any biothreats. Tests conducted at this facility came back negative and gave formal confirmation that the substance was not biological in nature. The Secret Service is running the investigation, which will include consulting cameras and entrance logs, the official added. The probe could take about two weeks, and officials caution that there may not be a resolution if no forensic material is found to identify someone. WASHINGTON — A formal lab test of the white substance found at the White House on Sunday has come back positive for cocaine, Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said Wednesday. That’s not all that makes this hourlong project such an interesting choice for Disney, which produced the documentary via Andscape – ESPN’s race and culture platform.

American Rapper Calvin “Snoop Dogg” Broadus Jr. claimed on a webshow in 2014 that he smoked marijuana in a White House bathroom in 2013. Willie Nelson similarly claims in his 1988 autobiography he smoked a joint on the White House roof sometime during President Jimmy Carter’s presidency. Villanova University star basketball player Gary McLain told Sports Illustrated in 1987 that he was “wired on cocaine” during his visit to meet President Ronald Reagan at the White House following the team’s 1985 NCAA championship. The substance was discovered in a work area in the west wing by members of the Uniformed Division of the Secret Service conducting routine rounds through the building, the secret service told Forbes.

In the letter, Chairman Comer emphasizes that the alarming development requires the Oversight Committee to assess White House security practices and determine whose failures led to an evacuation of the building and finding of the illegal substance. The Secret Service is not ruling out any White House personnel, guests or visitors. At this point, one leading theory is that the bag was brought in by an individual on a White House tour of the West Wing, according to senior law enforcement officials briefed on the matter.

Secret Service Examining How Suspected Cocaine Ended Up at the White House

News publications like CNN, The Hill, and the AP reported officials were working to identify who was responsible for bringing the substance into the federal building. The claim that the cocaine was found in the White House library was bolstered by initial reports stating the substance was found in a library, citing a dispatch call to D.C. Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi told The New York Times that the dispatch call was incorrect. According to the AP, Secret Service agents discovered the substance while doing a routine security scan of the building.

The investigation included a methodical review of security systems and protocols. This review included a backwards examination that spanned several days prior to the discovery of the substance and developed an index of several hundred individuals who may have accessed the area where the substance was found. The focal point of these actions developed a pool of known persons for comparison of forensic evidence gleaned from the FBI’s analysis of the substance's packaging.

Politics

Mr Bowman said Wildman had a history of work in the construction industry, but developed a significant drug habit, at one stage taking half an ounce of cocaine a week costing €1,100. The judge said that Wildman had been a "vital cog" in the distribution of drugs and had become involved due to his own drug-taking. Defence counsel Michael Bowman explained that Wildman requires regular hospitalisation for chemotherapy to manage the brain swelling and is also on immunosuppressants. Judge Martin Nolan imposed a lesser sentence on Wildman than that handed to Banks, after hearing extensive evidence of Wildman's medical difficulties. Wildman was upstairs trying to put cocaine down the toilet, but he only managed to empty one bag before gardaí arrived.

Garda Thomas McDaniel told the prosecution that when gardaí arrived at the house with a warrant, they found a large amount of drugs paraphernalia including weighing scales. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), responsible for investigating transnational crime and threats, specifically those criminal organizations that exploit the global infrastructure through which international trade, travel and finance move. HSI’s workforce of more than 8,700 employees consists of more than 6,000 special agents assigned to 237 cities throughout the United States, and 93 overseas locations in 56 countries. HSI’s international presence represents DHS’ largest investigative law enforcement presence abroad and one of the largest international footprints in U.S. law enforcement. The White House "is subject to rigorous guidelines that include drug testing, and so we will take any action that is appropriate and warranted, pending the outcome of the Secret Service," Jean-Pierre told reporters, adding that she wouldn't "get into hypotheticals." Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., sent a letter Wednesday asking Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle for more information about the investigation.

As such, the substance was field tested and preliminarily determined to not be a hazardous compound. Secret Service Uniformed Division found an unknown substance inside a vestibule leading to the lobby area of the West Executive Avenue entrance to the White House. ORLANDO, Fla. — A Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Orlando investigation led to a guilty plea for possession with the intent to distribute 5 kilograms or more of cocaine. "The president thinks it's very important to get to the bottom of this," Jean-Pierre said in response to a question about how determined Biden is to uncover who brought drugs into the White House. The substance was found Sunday evening in a small zippered bag in a highly trafficked part of the West Wing and prompted a brief evacuation, a Secret Service official said. No talking head is more cynical than Wocka Flocka Flame, an Atlanta rapper who not only came out for Trump in 2020, but said he was better than Obama.

Mr. Mosley regularly donates to school and local police department fundraising events, provides groceries and other necessities to those in need, and supports new businesses. There was no surveillance video footage found that provided investigative leads or any other means for investigators to identify who may have deposited the found substance in this area. Without physical evidence, the investigation will not be able to single out a person of interest from the hundreds of individuals who passed through the vestibule where the cocaine was discovered. At this time, the Secret Service's investigation is closed due to a lack of physical evidence.

The real test of the quality, will be to see what the longevity of the analog sticks are(before they develop drift problems)...assuming that this will ever happen. Microsoft’s run of custom Xbox consoles continues, this time with an X-Men ‘97 Xbox Series X and controllers. Call up radial menus with included paddles to keep your aim true and find the perfect groove for your favorite loadout with included interchangeable thumbsticks. PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 RIFFMASTER Wireless Guitar Controller

You must wait a few weeks for the gamepad to arrive instead of picking it up at a store, but that patience and willingness to pay extra means you can kit out your controller with your favorite colors. And that controller personalization makes Xbox Design Lab worthy of our Editors' Choice award. As for the latter, Microsoft has considerably expanded the availability of Xbox Design Lab to additional regions, with the most recent expansion adding over 10 new countries (you can see the full list above). Thailand is also gaining Xbox Design Lab support later this year, opening the service to more potential players. This issue is much smaller now than it was at launch, when Xbox Design Lab was limited to a handful of regions. Still, South America, Africa, Mexico, and many other regions are still absent from the list, so interested buyers in those places are out of luck.

We’re excited to bring more choices to gamers around the world and can’t wait to see how fans reimagine what it is to be Elite. PDP’s first attempt at a bespoke, wireless guitar controller for Rock Band 4 and similar games is certainly an admirable one. While the manufacturer has nailed responsiveness and included impressive features like a foldable design and superb battery life, its bland aesthetic and listless strum bar means there’s plenty of room for improvement. If you’ve got a hankering for some Rock Band 4, then it’ll be one of the best Xbox controllers for you. The Riffmaster is responsive, features all the buttons you’d expect in order to play these games comfortably (and more, as you will see), and has some smart design choices that boost its convenience factor. Sadly, the build quality here falls behind even what we expected during those halcyon Rock Band/Guitar Hero days, thus making its price tag a little tough to stomach.

REPLAY™ Wireless Controller - Designed for Samsung Gaming Hub

If you're looking for a highly personal controller, especially one built for Xbox, PC, and mobile platforms, there aren't many places to look. Some manufacturers like PowerA offer controllers with various colorways and designs, but these controllers are often more affordable entries and still limit options. Some "pro" controllers have swappable faceplates, which can be a great alternative if you also value added features on your controller, but this requires additional work and shopping on your part. Endless possibilities for customization and a tried-and-true design that excels at cross-device play is a recipe for success, and Xbox Design Lab doesn't disappoint.

Also, if you can find a brand new one, the controller comes with a code for downloadable cosmetics for your character. A quick glance at the service will bombard you with a collection of genuinely amazing user-made Xbox Design Lab controllers that show the creativity of the gaming community. Of course, Microsoft has also released some exceptional custom-made Xbox controllers since the first Xbox console was unveiled more than two decades ago. Even before Microsoft's powerful console was released to the market, it already had a reputation for outlandish design ideas, as the X-shaped prototype for the original Xbox can attest, which gave customers a peek at what was to come. Below are some of the coolest and most iconic custom Xbox controllers throughout the gaming console's illustrious history.

Designed for extended gameplay

Before I move on to the few negatives that weigh down Xbox Design Lab, I want to touch on the much-improved website for the service. The old website was confusing to navigate, and was prone to crashes, freezes, and other errors. This newly redesigned website not only looks much cleaner, it's also significantly easier to use, and has never stuttered while I've used it. Why you can trust Windows Central Our expert reviewers spend hours testing and comparing products and services so you can choose the best for you. Easily pair and switch between Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles, Windows PC, and mobile devices with Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth.

Visit Xbox Design Lab to order an Xbox Elite Series 2 with customized colors. Add paddles, thumbsticks, and carrying case for even more customization (sold separately). There's a lot to love about Xbox Design Lab, but the vast majority of its customization options are, understandably, purely cosmetic.

Video games and personal expression go hand-in-hand, with many players' setups and accessories reflecting their identities and personality. From RGB lights to themed products and collaborations, this effort to personalize is everywhere. Xbox Design Lab makes it incredibly easy to own an Xbox Wireless Controller that perfectly matches you, and it's continually getting better over time. Budget-conscious consumers may be dissuaded by the swiftly rising price of an Xbox Design Lab controller, as well.

Xbox Design Lab: Should you buy?

Now a full-fledged Staff Writer, Zachary has expanded from only writing about all things Minecraft to covering practically everything on which Windows Central is an expert, especially when it comes to Microsoft. Not only is it one of your only options for acquiring a truly personalized controller, it's also genuinely great at delivering. Still, there are a few things that may deter potential customers, or that need to improve in the future.

For the former, buyers are looking at a 3-4 week wait to receive their custom controller, and won't be able to refund the order after a certain point post-purchase (since each controller is built to order). This is understandable given the nature of the service, but can still be annoying if you're in need of a new controller or you change your mind. If you're considering an Xbox Design Lab controller, evaluate how much you value owning a unique, personal accessory, and whether those optional upgrades are worth it. You can still make a fantastic, special controller without nudging the final price higher.

The final customization section lets you engrave your controller with up to 16 characters or you can click a button to easily have your gamertag engraved. To secure an Xbox Design Lab controller of your own, you'll have to be willing to pay the price, and be residing in a supported region. The "Gears of War 4" Elite controller, released in 2016, along with the fourth installment of the third-person action shooter, features a grimy, blood-splattered aesthetic that complements the relentlessly bleak atmosphere of the games.

While there, you can also set up different button mapping configurations to tailor the controller to your preferred gaming style. The holidays are almost here, and Xbox Design Lab is the perfect gift for yourself or the gamer in your life. Xbox Design Lab is a customization program that offers over a billion ways to customize your very own Xbox Wireless Controller. Starting today, you can access the design experience right from your Xbox One dashboard or the Microsoft Store app on your PC. When using either device, we’ve streamlined the design experience so there are fewer clicks between you and your personalized controller. To add to the convenience, the checkout process will auto-populate any information you’ve stored in your Microsoft Account.

I'm not insulting the flag, just the implementation; the layout on the gamepad's faceplate is a mess. Note that these patterns only apply to the controller's front; you still need to choose a flat color for the back. We have a bold vision for customization through Xbox Design Lab, and this update is just the beginning.

white house cocaine

Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., sent a letter Wednesday asking Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle to release information about where the cocaine was found. He also asked half a dozen questions about access to the White House, other instances of illegal drugs' being found in the complex and security procedures, requesting answers by July 14. Jean-Pierre reiterated that the cocaine was found in a heavily traveled area that visitors often transit and noted that staff-sponsored tours were held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. He and his family were at the presidential retreat at Camp David, Maryland, not the White House, when the cocaine was discovered. The blurry timeline and the number of people who walk through the area where the cocaine was found could make it difficult to determine who was responsible, an official familiar with the investigation said. This might not be the first time illegal drugs were brought into or used at the White House.

The Secret Service said in a statement the White House was closed as a precaution as emergency crews investigated, and that the District of Columbia fire department was called in to evaluate and determine that the substance was not hazardous. Following the discovery, safety closures were implemented around the White House. This response was designed to ensure that the found substance was not a chemical or radiological material that threatened the security of the White House.

Secret Service ends White House cocaine investigation with no leads

The cocaine was found in an entrance area between the foyer and a lower-level lobby, the sources said. The entrance is near where some vehicles, like the vice president’s limo or SUV, park. It is one floor below the main West Wing offices and on the same floor as the Situation Room and a dining area. At the time of publication, there was no credible evidence to link the drug found in the White House to any individual or group, much less the president's son.

Who left cocaine in the West Wing? The Secret Service says they may never know

If an officer encounters a powder or substance on White House grounds or in surrounding areas, they routinely request the assistance of D.C. An initial test of the substance conducted by the District of Columbia Fire Department soon after it was found indicated it was cocaine, and the additional test took place Tuesday night. As the investigation continued, many posts claimed without evidence that the cocaine belonged to Hunter Biden, who previously discussed being addicted to crack cocaine in a 2021 memoir. NBC reported the "blurry timeline" could make it difficult for investigators to identify a source. Additionally, investigators were considering the high volume of people who walk through the area. Julia Ainsley is homeland security correspondent for NBC News and covers the Department of Homeland Security and the Justice Department for the NBC News Investigative Unit.

Tests later showed the powder was cocaine, according to reputable news publications. But the lab results didn’t turn up latent fingerprints or DNA, so agents can’t compare anything to the possible suspect pool. Lawmakers who attended the briefing confirmed that the Secret Service's investigation will conclude with no determination of who the cocaine belonged to, leaving Republicans exasperated and with more questions. The court heard that he told gardaí on arrest that he had accumulated a drug debt of €25,000 and was under duress from others to become involved in the operation. Judge Nolan said the court could not impose a non-custodial sentence because of the seriousness of the crime and the level of Wildman’s involvement. This case was part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) investigation.

Cocaine found at White House: Cameras, visitor logs searched by Secret Service - Reuters

Cocaine found at White House: Cameras, visitor logs searched by Secret Service.

Posted: Wed, 05 Jul 2023 07:00:00 GMT [source]

Biden and his family left for Camp David on Friday and returned to the White House on Tuesday. The U.S. Secret Service takes its mission to protect U.S. leaders, facilities, and events seriously and we are constantly adapting to meet the needs of the current and future security environment. The substance was located inside a receptacle used to temporarily store electronic and personal devices prior to entering the West Wing.

The cocaine, contained in a small Ziploc bag, was found in a cubby used by visitors to store cellphones and other personal items before entering the West Wing. The Secret Service described the location of the substance as "inside a vestibule leading to the lobby area of the West Executive Avenue entrance to the White House." In a statement describing the events surrounding the cocaine's discovery, which began July 2, the Secret Service said as part of its review, it compiled a list of "several hundred" people who may have accessed the area where the substance was discovered. But no fingerprints could be found on the cocaine's packaging and there was "insufficient DNA" for "investigative comparisons," the Secret Service said. Washington — The U.S. Secret Service has closed its investigation into the bag of cocaine that was discovered at the White House earlier this month, but was unable to identify a suspect "due to a lack of physical evidence," the agency said Thursday. While awaiting the FBl's results, the Secret Service investigation into how this item entered the White House continued.

Officers found the cocaine during a routine patrol, a Secret Service official said. The complex was briefly evacuated as a precaution when the white powder was found. The fire department was called in to test the substance on the spot to determine whether it was hazardous, and the initial test came back negative for a biohazard but positive for cocaine. The president was briefed on the incident, and the discovery of the cocaine prompted questions from Republicans in the House. Oversight Committee chairman James Comer said last week his panel will assess the White House's security practices, and the Secret Service on Thursday provided a closed-door briefing for the committee.

Chuck Rosenberg, a former U.S. attorney and acting administrator of the Drug Enforcement Administration under then-President Barack Obama, said law enforcement agencies need to consider their resources when making decisions about who and what to investigate. Gugliemi said the small amount of cocaine, 208 milligrams or about .007 ounce, would only result in a misdemeanor charge in the District of Columbia and the agency determined that did not warrant the expenditure of resources it would take to interview 500 people. There wasn't enough of either on the bag to draw any conclusions, the Secret Service said in a statement. She has written for outlets including the Washington Examiner, Daily Signal and Alexandria Times.

The substance had tested positive for cocaine on a preliminary field test, the official familiar with the investigation said Tuesday, and the formal lab test confirmed that result. A powdery white substance that tested positive as cocaine in preliminary tests was found in the White House, sparking an investigation from the U.S. Two senior law enforcement officials told CBS News that there was 207.6 milligrams, or .007 ounces, of cocaine discovered, according to an FBI analysis. On July 12, the Secret Service received the FBI’s laboratory results, which did not develop latent fingerprints and insufficient DNA was present for investigative comparisons. Therefore, the Secret Service is not able to compare evidence against the known pool of individuals.

For years, the network made a great show of keeping politics out of its journalism, cracking down on select personalities who crossed the line off air. But with changing times has come new management that appears to be perfectly fine giving itself over to political fodder, and no view would appear to be too extreme. Alexis Sutton –New Haven, ConnecticutAlexis Sutton is a 33-year-old woman who pleaded guilty to a non-violent drug offense. Since then, she has taken classes in hopes of earning her nursing degree and ultimately becoming a registered nurse. Colleagues, friends, and neighbors describe her as resilient, reliable, caring, hard-working, and a role model, and they note her devotion to her family and her studies.

Guests must pass through security before entering the White House complex and then are asked to leave phones in small cubbies. Secret Service representatives briefed members of the House Oversight and Homeland Security committees on Capitol Hill on Thursday after lawmakers requested answers on the probe and security protocols at the White House. The sources maintain that the area is highly trafficked, in keeping with Jean-Pierre's characterization Wednesday. The area is transited by VIPs, visitors, tourists, staff members, military officials and facilities operations employees.

Secret Service officials say they have received the letter and will respond. President Joe Biden and his family were at the presidential retreat at Camp David, Maryland, not the White House, when officers discovered the cocaine. In updating where the cocaine was found, officials said that area was also heavily trafficked.

NBC reported the drug was in a small, zippered bag, and that it was unclear how long it had been in the White House. The Secret Service on Thursday announced it had closed its investigation into who left a small packet of cocaine in the White House without finding the culprit, and a spokesman for the agency told NBC News it did so without conducting interviews. Meanwhile, Secret Service investigators put together a list of several hundred individuals who may have accessed the area where the drugs were found.

The Situation Room itself is being renovated, and has not being used for months. The lobby is also open to staff-led tours of the West Wing, which are scheduled for nonworking hours on the weekends and evenings. Those tours are invitation-only and led by White House staff for friends, family and other guests. Most staffers who work in the complex can request an evening or weekend tour slot, but there is often a long wait list. There were tours on the day, a Sunday, the drugs were found, as well as on the two preceding days. The bag containing the cocaine remains in a federal laboratory, where it will be tested for DNA and fingerprints, the official said.

Placing a wall sconce above the modern house numbers draws attention to them and allows for better nighttime visibility. In 1961, John Lautner designed the West Hollywood home for interior designer and concert pianist Marco Wolff. For Lautner, who had apprenticed under Frank Lloyd Wright in the 1930s, the home was an opportunity to flex his creative muscles. What began as an arduous and almost vertical plot of land resulted in, perhaps, the acme of midcentury-modern residential architecture on the West Coast. With this home, Lautner leaned into the primal state of nature, demanding that his audience turn their preconceived notion of domesticity on its head. It was a bold statement of how humans once lived—among the trees, the rocks, perched atop a hill—and the architect stamped his thumbprint on it.

Numbers & letters are a stylish and practical addition to your property. They help people find your home or business easily, and reflect your personal style. They can be installed on the exterior of a building, can be used for interior numbering, or to create unique signage.

In March 1954, Clarence “Buck” Stahl and Carlotta May Gates drove from Los Angeles to Las Vegas and got married in a chapel. They each worked in aviation (Buck in sales, Carlotta as a receptionist), had previous marriages, and were strapping, tall, and extremely good looking—California Apollonians out of central casting. It was as conspicuous as it was forbidding, visible from the couple’s house on nearby Hillside Avenue. “This lot was in pure view—every morning, every night,” Carlotta Stahl recalled. Locals called it Pecker Point, presumably because it was a prime makeout venue. For the Stahls, it became the blank screen on which they projected their dreams of a life together, a place to build a future, a family, and a house like no other.

I did the Motominded kit and added a Baja Designs Squadron Sport. I have been very happy and the fit and finish was excellent. I am nit sure if the have a Hi/Lo switch harness, Mine just runs in High Beam and that is fine with me off road, might be too bright for nightime street use.
